Ideal Standard (UK) manages its BIM Data in Autodesk Revit with RTV Tools
When Ideal Standard (UK) wanted to upgrade and convert its existing digital portfolio of sanitary ware in Autodesk® Revit® it needed a unique solution to manage the Building Information Modelling (BIM) data of over 8,000 products.
“We needed a solution that allowed us to automate the management of Data within Revit. This particularly revolved around the update of existing files and data to bring in-line with our new Data standards,” says Lee Jones, Design Manager – BIM/New Projects, Ideal Standard (UK).
Finding a trusted and flexible solution that could manage all of the BIM data required at the right price was the next challenge for Lee.
“After a thorough search it was clear that RTV Tools (RTV) Shared Parameters Manager (SPM) was the only solution that could fulfil our needs. We also saw the RTV SPM as a way of managing our Data moving forward as it would easily allow ongoing updates as BIM matures and COBie (Construction Operations Building Information Exchange) evolves in the UK,” he said.
